September in Yellowstone National Park

Other than the double rainbow, the weather at home yesterday reminded me of the weather I experienced my last day in Yellowstone National Park this past September. In each case the day started with a mix of rain and snow but that’s where the similarity ends. The scenery in Yellowstone was far more spectacular than at home. The double rainbow over the east entrance to the park is one of only several I’ve seen in my lifetime and the first one that I ever was able to capture an image of.

The image below was taken looking northeast just prior to leaving the Hayden Valley. It’s one of my favorite views of the entire trip.
