Life since getting back from my trip to the Tetons and Yellowstone has been a challenge. Several big projects at work and a very busy personal life have limited my time to blog and to process photos taken on the trip.
Thinking back on it, the trip was much more of a challenge than normal for me. The challenge of not knowing the parks, the challenge of photographing in smoke filled hazy skies that made my eyes continuously itch and water, the challenge of thin air at high altitude during some of my hikes, and the challenge of there being too many things to see in a short period of time. Possibly the biggest challenge for me was trying to find a good composition in an environment where so many great pictures have already been taken in.
Imagine the many challenges this lone tree, located in the pothole region of the park, has experienced during its long lifespan. More likely than not, much larger challenges than I experienced during my time there.
I’m not totally satisfied with the edit and crop of the photo, regardless it’s already one of my favorites from the trip.
