Preening Time

We’ve had three straight days of rain over the holiday weekend. The good news is that it didn’t slow down the hummingbird traffic in my back yard any.

Ruby Throated Hummingbird drying feathers after a rain fall.

During the few breaks between the rain, the sun popped out and the hummingbirds spent their time drying and preening their feathers. This presented an opportunity for some unique photos due to the various poses the birds take while cleaning up. These are a few of my favorites from yesterday afternoon.

Thanks for visiting, hope you enjoyed – John
